My
first photography class was as a freshman in high school, where I
learned the basics, and I have been photographing ever since. I have been practicing
black and white landscape photography since 1997 and enjoy traveling to
many different locations to do so. Much of my landscape photography is
from New Mexico and surrounding states, since that is where I took my
first black and white landscape photography course at the Ghost Ranch in
Abiquiu, NM.
Ever since then I have been hooked on watching the land and I like to
travel and explore new places as often as possible.
All
of my black and white landscape photography is custom printed by hand. I process
and print my own work using archival methods to ensure high quality lasting
prints. I also do the finishing touches of mounting, matting and even
framing. My husband, Jeremy, and I make the wooden frames for these pieces.
Cherry wood is our favorite choice, but we also like to use other woods
and some metal
frames depending on the subject matter.
Each piece involves numerous hours of work to create and is intended for
years of enjoyment in ones home.
